Minnesota Digital Library annual meeting next week

Next Monday, May 11, 2007, come by the MDLC’s annual meeting at St. Ben’s outside St. Cloud to hear about the Minnesota Digital Library Coalition’s partners, projects, and resources.  Here’s the schedule (yes, that’s me presenting in the afternoon):

This session features a new computer program that will allow educators (K-12, university, museum, etc.) to create interactive instructional units using materials from the MDL.

Beyond Photos—What’s Being Digitized in Minnesota

Copyright and Digitization

Representatives from several organizations that have participated in the Minnesota Digital Library will share stories of how they have leveraged their participation in the MDL exciting ways.

MDL Metadata
If you are wondering what metadata is and how to provide it, if you want to learn the ins and outs of the MDL metadata guidelines and spreadsheet, attend this session. If you want to gauge how much work creating metadata involves, this session is also for you.

2:00-3:00 PM Locating and Incorporating Primary Sources into the K-12 Curriculum
Learn to use Minnesota Reflections to mine primary resources for K-12 curriculum. Using ELM resources such as Gale’s Discovering Collection and Junior Reference Collection will also be presented.
